'The Match': Ralf Little a big concern
Published Thursday, Oct 5 2006, 15:25 BST | By Ben Rawson-Jones
The injury crisis consuming the celebrity squad has reaped another victim in the form of Ralf Little.
The Royle Family actor, whom many believe to be the best player on the side, was scythed down by a challenge from Harvey in training on Tuesday. Consequently, his swollen ankle meant that he could take no part in yesterday's warm up game against Newcastle United.
"If I have to go out with a crutch, I'll go out with a crutch," affirmed a determined Little. He also received some words of advice from Graham Taylor, who told him: "You can't change the things that happen to us in life, but we can change our attitudes towards them."
Goalkeeper Mark Bosnich managed some light training before the practice match, although time is running out for him to prove his fitness before Sunday's match. However, Alex Lawler has made a very good impression on the manager between the posts. Taylor admitted that the Newcastle score would have been in "double figures" had it not been for Lawler's fine string of saves.
Meanwhile, both Jeff Brazier and Darren Campbell appear to have recovered from their recent injury scares earlier this week.
