After two years on the ITV reality show, the chef, 47, plans to focus on running his restaurants.
"Marco doesn't need the money and he never set out to acquire fame," a source told The Sun.
"He took part in Hell's Kitchen for the past two years because he felt that certain celebrity chefs portrayed the role badly. He hated the idea of kitchens being run by bullies. He knows he shouts too, but he doesn't believe it's necessary to scream and swear all the time to gain control."
"[The restaurants] are his priority now. He's enjoyed his time in front of the camera but he says he won't miss it at all."
White, who has three children, took over from Gary Rhodes and Jean-Christophe Novelli on Hell's Kitchen in 2007. Gordon Ramsay hosted the first series in 2004.
The insider added: "He's ready to throw in the towel now - he's had enough. ITV have offered him opportunities to present other shows, but he's not interested."
