Being Human actress Lenora Crichlow has signed up to star in a new BBC Three comedy, it has been announced.

Dappers, which also features Tom Ellis, Ty Glaser and Eddie Large, was recently filmed in Bristol.

The plot revolves around two young mothers called Ashley (Crichlow) and Faye (Glaser) who live in Housing Association flats. Ellis plays Ashley's boyfriend, a nightclub impresario called Marco.

Writer Catherine Johnson, who also penned Mamma Mia!, said: "I'm so happy to have filmed in my home town of Bristol. This beats a Greek isle with Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth any day!"

Dappers is due to air on BBC Three this spring.
