Damien Molony, Michael Socha and Kate Bracken will star in the new six-part series as vampire Hal, werewolf Tom and ghost Alex.

The fifth series premiere will introduce Whitechapel star Phil Davis as the menacing Captain Hatch and will also see the return of the sinister government agent Mr Rook (Steven Robertson).

Having been fired from their old jobs at the local café, Hal and Tom find new employment at the Barry Grand Hotel, where they first encounter "poisonous pensioner" Hatch (Phil Davis).

Whithouse recently claimed that series five of Being Human will climax with an ending that "will leave you guessing".

"There will be much discussion about the end," the writer hinted.
