What can you tell us about your character Adam?
"Adam is this 40-year old vampire in a 15-year-old's body. He's a very horny teenager and wants to get laid most of the time! That's on his mind, and he also wants blood. The whole story on Being Human with Adam is a very interesting episode. It's sort of about him finding himself and trying to get on the straight path, with a fresh start."
How is Adam introduced to the regular characters in Being Human?
"They find him at the hospital feeding on somebody. They take him in and help him. Adam feels a connection with Mitchell, and he's like, 'Let's go out! Let's get some girls!' and that sort of thing. He's not really up for that! He tells Adam that he needs to get clean and sort himself out."
Was it fun playing such an unusual role?
"Yeah. Obviously I've never played a vampire, and I've always wanted my eyes to go black and for me to look really cool, so that girls would finally dig me! I usually do play the naive, very quiet kids. That's usually the casting bracket that I'm in, so this was a nice little character to play because I could let go a little bit. The Being Human people were really cool and let me improvise. They had such a good working atmosphere. It was a cool set-up and a really good environment to be in."
Had you watched Being Human before you were cast?
"I hadn't watched Being Human, no. When I got the part, I bought the two series and watched them. I then realised how good this thing was. It's incredible. It's not just a drama put on TV. There's really good acting and it's really well-shot. It's really cool."
What happens to Adam in the new web-series Becoming Human?
"We end the Being Human episode with him leaving for a fresh start, and then if you press the red button or go on the Being Human website, you see him go to a new school where he's ready to turn a new page. He discovers that there's a werewolf and a ghost at this school, so that sort of puts a spanner in the works of starting fresh! So there's a whole new adventure there for him."
"Yeah, I think it definitely will. Younger people like Being Human anyway so chuck a younger cast in there with a good script, a cool theme and a great idea, and yeah, I'm sure they will."
You previously appeared in CBBC's Young Dracula. How did it feel taking on another vampire-based role?
"I'm getting a lot of stick because my character in Young Dracula wanted to be vampire, so now that I am a vampire, everyone's like, 'You finally did it!' But it's cool and I loved doing Young Dracula. That show's finished and I don't know why it ended, so it was brilliant to go into Being Human, which is like the adult version of it. It was cool to take that step."
What are your thoughts on the current vampire craze, inspired by things like Twilight?
"It seems to have taken over the world a little bit, but I think it's dying down now. I'm not too sure if it's still going. It's ridiculous. But it's a cool thing to see a vampire transform, with his eyes turning black and his fangs coming out. And the werewolves transforming! It's a bloody cool thing to watch. I want to watch it, so I'm sure other people will too."
After this web-series, is there any chance that Adam could pop up again on Being Human?
"I'd love to pop back into Being Human as Adam. I love the character so much. I've never really played a character like that. I'm always playing the geek, so to play a kid who is very energetic when he wants to be, and who is always trying to get the girls, was really cool. I couldn't wait to start doing that and that's why when they asked me if I wanted to do Becoming Human, I said 'Yeah, let's take the character even further'." So yeah, I'd love to pop back again."
And would you be interested in making more Becoming Human after these nine episodes?
"Sure, I'd be up for that definitely. It's a really cool idea. We'll see what the reaction is to it and if it's a really good reaction, then we should definitely do another one."
Episode two of Being Human airs this Sunday at 9pm on BBC Three. Becoming Human will launch on the BBC Being Human website immediately after the episode has aired.
