'Comedy Rocks' thrashed by 'Hustle'

Jason Manford's Comedy Rocks was comprehensively beaten by Hustle last night, according to overnight data.

During the 9pm hour, the stand-up show's second series opener averaged 2.89m (12%) for ITV1, while Hustle grabbed an impressive 5.92m (24.7%) for BBC One, up 200k week-on-week.

Versus Coronation Street, BBC One's QI educated 4m (15.8%), while Children's Hospital took 3.35m (14.2%) against EastEnders.

Over on BBC Two, Mastermind, Life In A Cottage Garden and Can't Take It With You were seen by respective audiences of 2.23m (9.1%), 1.59m (6.3%) and 1.73m (7.2%), then new Hugh Dennis improvisation show Fast and Loose amused 1.33m (6.2%).

Relocation: Phil Down Under, Heston's Fishy Feast and a Shameless repeat notched up 1.58m (6.3%), 1.8m (7.5%) and 2.41m (12.2%) for Channel 4, as well as 281k (1.2%), 324k (1.6%) and 347k (2.7%) on +1.

Meanwhile, documentary Pirates Of The Caribbean: The True Story logged 1.06m (4.2%) at 8pm, after which The Mentalist and CSI picked up 1.16m (4.8%) and 699k (5.2%).

Overall, BBC One beat ITV1 in primetime, with 23.4% to 21.9%. Channel 4 finished third with 7.1% (+1: 0.9%), followed by BBC Two with 6.1%, and Channel 5 with 3.6%.
