Hustle: The Movie is on!
Published Monday, Jul 7 2008, 10:43 BST | By Neil Wilkes | 13 comments

After a long period of waiting for confirmation, last month it was announced that a fifth series was going into production for transmission later this year. Now I can reveal an added bonus... Hustle: The Movie!
That's right, a big screen version of the con artist drama is currently in the works. Details are patchy, but Fox is thought to be behind the project, which is being penned by Tony Jordan.
Cast member Jaime Murray confirmed the news to me at the weekend, saying that the script had already been written and she was "definitely" on board.
Murray - currently starring in FX's Dexter, which began its second season at the weekend - will not be part of the lineup for series five, however. "I'm so sad," she said. "I'm going to miss those guys so much. I love the production team, the producers and the actors. It just wasn't going to work, schedule-wise. Fingers crossed at some time in the future, we all get reunited."

I am an undergraduate student from india (IT-BHU)....Just last week I started seeing from the very first episde of hustle.....Within three days I finished all the episodes of the show, from all the four seasons......This show simply impeccable...awesome storyline..extremely addictive(to watch ...of course)..easily one of the best shows I have ever watched from all genres.....Great to hear that a movie is coming up too with all the original cast members...

I love Hustle! I'm bummed that Jamie Murray isn't going to be back for Season 5 (I thought her character was killed off on Dexter... at least that's what I heard). But I hope that the movie keeps everything (the wit, the charm, the suspence, and the intelligence) intact.

Wow, that's brilliant news! I'm a bit confused as to what's happening with Ms Murray, but glad to hear that she's up for the big screen version. Who's going to be playing the new female role for Series 5 then? Hustle definitely needs some female hustling action.

Tony Jordan mentioned this in the extras on the series 4 DVD - glad it's a step closer to reality. The originsl idea was for it to be a prequel, but I can't see how that would work now that everyone's - um - aged a bit! I agree we need as many of the full cast as possible. The good news is that they all love doig the show so much I'm sure they'd all want to do it, if Fox will have them. *crosses fingers, toes and everything else*

I'm so glad about this! I mean, I really like "Hustle" since the beginning of the show and I wonder what kind of storyline will it be about in the movie. I'm sure some will compare it to "Ocean's 11, 12 and 13" but I disagree. And I hope it will be the whole team : Danny Blue, Mickey 'Bricks' Stone, Ash Morgan, Stacey Monroe, Albert Stroller, Billy Bond and of course Eddie. Plus, I'm really excited about Adrian's return for the fifth series.

Yay!! As long as they stick to the original style (and as many of the original cast as possible) I think it's long overdue. There aren't many programmes that are entertaining AND intelligent. One of my favourite shows of all time.

Providing that we get the original cast line up from the show are in the film, we could be in for a real treat!

Oh no! Hustle has been getting worse and worse in the last few years. The first few series' were ok, but recently it's gotten more and more far-fetched and ridiculous. A Hustle movie would be more of a nail in the coffin than icing on the cake.

WOW, sounds brilliant, i cant wait. only thing that worries me is that fox are behind it, they might make it all american and totally miss the poitn of the show like what usually happens when americans try to copy british things. will marc warren be in it aswell?
