The E4 teen comedy was recently renewed by channel head Angela Jain for a third run, but rumours have been circulating that the show may go off air after the new episodes have aired.
The Mirror quotes Buckley - Jay Cartwright on the programme - as suggesting that the cast are "too old" to keep playing the roles.
"We're getting too old to be playing schoolchildren. And it'll be a shame to keep going and get tired," he said.
Writer Iain Morris recently told DS that the third series would be a fitting end to the show.
