The US version of the hit comedy will star Bubba Lewis, Joey Pollari, Zack Pearlman and Mark L. Young as the four awkward teenagers at the centre of the show.
Head, who played Will's dad in the recent Inbetweeners movie, told Entertainment Weekly: "I have to say, sometimes you wonder about translations [but] it's good, actually. They followed [the original] very close. Its themes are pretty common."
The actor, who is also the real-life father of Inbetweeners star Emily Head, added that the NBC remake of his own show Free Agents also includes only "the best, best parts".
"With Free Agents, they've taken all the essence... and allowed [it] to grow," he insisted. "The original was basically a small, perfectly formed, critically acclaimed gem that they used as a jumping-off place."
Head will reprise his role as sex-obsessed PR boss Stephen in the Free Agents remake and previously described the new show as "witty and sassy".
Free Agents premieres on NBC on Wednesday, September 14 at 10.30/9.30c, while MTV's Inbetweeners remake will premiere in 2012.
