A cook who used to work at Burger King has won the MasterChef: The Professionals title.
25-year-old Derek Johnstone beat 26 other chefs to triumph in the BBC Two show. He will start work for Michel Roux Jr. at his Le Gavroche restaurant in October.
Johnstone, who previously worked at the Macdonald Crutherland Hotel in East Kilbride, described his win as a dream come true.
He said: "It was an incredible experience and one that I never thought I would get to take part in. I'm so pleased to have won the competition and as far as my career is concerned it has encouraged me to fulfil all my dreams."
