Axed Britain's Next Top Model star Olivia Oldham-Stevens has defended Charlotte Holmes over criticism of her weight.

The 19-year-old student, who was voted off the reality show this week, claimed that she doesn't agree with judge Julien Macdonald's assessment that Holmes needs to be "slightly thinner".

"I didn't think there was a problem with Charlotte's weight at all," she told DS. "Obviously she put on weight during the show, but she knew that as well. But Charlotte could lose that weight as easily as she put it on if she wants to.

"And some girls when they are stressed put on weight more. A lot of the girls just put on naturally. But then the other half, like me, don't really put weight on. I think for Charlotte, she is probably one of those girls who does."

Holmes broke down in tears during Monday's episode, recalling Macdonald's comments.

Britain's Next Top Model continues next Monday at 9pm on Living.
