'Top Model' judges get tough: 'More model-ly, less Page 3'

By
The Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model model judges have ramped up the pressure on the contestants this week, revealing that only 14 will get through the Top Model house and unleashing some biting put-downs.

Ahead of a final cull in Dubai, Elle Macpherson challenged the girls to a bikini catwalk followed by an Arabian Princess photoshoot.

Julien Macdonald was particularly critical of hopeful Anita during the catwalk, commenting: "Learn to be more model-ly, and less Page 3. Because nobody wants to be a glamour model if they can be a fashion model.

"So go for fashion, fashion, FASHION!"

He was also critical of aspriring model Jennifer's tattoos, saying: "When you're actually selling designers' clothes, you're selling an aspiration of beauty and perfection, and for me, your tattoo is not a sign of beauty or perfection. It's too much and it's a bit common."

Whitney Port and Tyson Beckford also joined in the criticism, describing Madline as having too much "attitude" and branding Louisa "boring".

Meanwhile, Macpherson was concerned about Diona's commitment.

"Do you want to be an actress or do you want to be a model?" she asked.

Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model airs on Mondays at 9pm on Sky Living.
