'Next Top Model' axes another: 'People treated me like a vampire'

By
Maddie Taga has become the latest girl eliminated from Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model after this week's 'Broken Dolls' photo shoot.

The notoriously outspoken contestant's mouth proved to be her undoing after Elle Macpherson and the rest of the panel disapproved of her unusual lip puckering in her latest picture.

Addressing Maddie and her bottom two opponent Roxy, Macpherson commented: "It's really difficult to see you both here because you are two fabulous girls, and you're both here for the same reason.

"It's because you're sort of defeated somehow, and it shows in your pictures. We as a panel of judges do not want to see either of you go, because you're great girls."

Speaking to Digital Spy after her exit, Maddie confessed that Macpherson had been right "to a certain extent" about her giving up and she could "kind of see" her exit coming.

"You guys have to remember that [when] none of us have any contact with our family and the house is full of people that treat you like a vampire, you feel really defeated," she explained.

"I understand a lot of people thought I was fierce and blah blah blah but I'm not at all like that."

Despite claiming to be calmer than how she appeared on the show, Maddie stood by her criticism of Letitia and admitted that she had wanted to be harsher on her rival during the newsroom challenge.

"Letitia is always so serious all the time," she said. "She is a cry baby and Letitia is very weird on the side.

"She is very manipulative, very careful with how she chooses her words around people and she's always hiding what she really thinks.

"I see that as very malicious. I was even going to say [in the newsroom] that she was a psychopath [but] I [thought] 'I'm going to get myself in trouble even more'."

Agreeing that Letitia was not being herself on Top Model, the French star concluded: "She's beautiful, she's gorgeous and everything, but her personality sucks."

Addressing the criticism she received from most of her fellow contestants, Maddie declared: "To be honest I don't know what everybody's problem was with me.

"When I had something to say I would say it to their face... I guess I tend to relate better when people are honest and straightforward. Some of my friends say they're just jealous, but jealous of what?"

However, she insisted: "There is nothing that those girls can say in ten million years that would hurt me."

Maddie also stood by the faces she pulled in the photo shoot that ultimately contributed to her exit, saying that she "didn't want to play it safe" like some of the other girls because "beautiful is boring at the end of the day".

"You need to mix things up. You only have one life," she said. "I will always look up at people who do different things all the time because it's the only way to keep motivated...everybody can smile."

Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model airs Mondays at 9pm on Sky Living.
