Whittled down to 22 and then finally a lucky 13, it was a brutal episode, packed with some of the most hilariously absurd insults you'll ever hear on TV. "She seriously over-plucks her eyebrows," complained the angry judges about one girl. Literally any excuse was taken to cull a contestant. Too handy with the tweezers? You're out!
The girls' "photogenic" qualities were challenged for the first time as they partook in groups shots, while the judges stood in a secret room next door playing Mean Girls, bitching away with snipes like, "She looks like Chewbacca" and "crotch to camera... not good".
Afterwards, the girls were paired off and asked to pose in a clear glass box, while Grace Woodward barked orders and Julien Macdonald stroked his pet cat and threw out spiked criticisms like a bizarre Welsh Bond villain with a penchant for supermodels.
Elle Macpherson's Top 13 were revealed at the end of the episode:
The final 13 include Russian Anastasia Bogatirjova, street casting winner Hannah Devenne, belly dancing fan Jessica Etonye, childcare worker Stacey Haskins, Lily Cole fan Kimberleigh Spreadbury, Stoke-on-Trent's Jade Thompson, and 23-year-old Holly Higgins. Completing the finalists are Londoner Ufuoma Itoje, former Miss Lithuania Juste Juozapaityte, surfer and kick-boxer Amy Woodman, ex-Sugar Hut employee Imogen Leaver, full-time mum Tanya Mihailovic, and arts and craft student Joanne Northey.
All 13 contestants will be squeezed together into a single house next week, so expect the usual pillow fights and finger-jabbing rows over everything from spilt milk to hair straighteners to comments about one of the girls' weight. There may also be some modelling involved along the way as well.
Quote of the night:
A score draw between Grace Woodward's "She looks like a fishwife" and Julien Macdonald's gobsmacking "She looks like Chewbacca".
Britain's Next Top Model airs on Mondays at 9pm on Sky Living.
