'71 Degrees North': John Thompson, Lisa Maxwell accuse stars of cheating

John Thompson and Lisa Maxwell have accused the celebrities on 71 Degrees North of cheating.

In last night's episode of the show, celebrity hairdresser Nicky Clarke was eliminated from the competition after picking up five votes from his fellow contestants.

Thompson and Maxwell have now alleged that some of the other stars rigged the vote to save Sean Maguire.

"The rules said no discussion of eviction," Thompson told Digital Spy. "I said, 'Are the red team psychic?' They suddenly all chose Nicky to protect Sean, it was obvious."

Maxwell added: "Nicky had only ever been lovely all the way through - pulled his weight, did everything he could do."



Maxwell also suggested that she found it difficult when the teams got mixed up later in the series, saying: "That's hard."

The pair added that fans of 71 Degrees North should be prepared for "unexpected" moments in upcoming episodes, with Maxwell saying: "Lots of weird things happen that no-one can imagine. So much drama."

Thompson agreed: "I would hate to have to edit this show because it's just immense, the amount of stuff."

71 Degrees North airs on Tuesdays at 9pm on ITV1.
