The Biggest Loser continued this week with the remaining 11 contestants making a splash in a rope-hanging challenge and one more couple getting eliminated after the dreaded weigh-in. Angie Dowds vowed that week two would be the "toughest week in the Biggest Loser experience", while Richard Callender claimed that the "gloves are off". We were promised tears, drama and sweat.

The first challenge of the episode was... doing a press-up! Despite the fact 31 stone Mark managed to pull off the task, Paul and Joanne attracted attention from the trainers for their failure to manage a single exercise. Competitor Rob sneered that the couple may be viewing the show as a holiday camp. Angie then put the competitors through an intensive fitness session and tried to get to the bottom of some of the contestants' issues with weight and food.

The Challenge

This week's challenge involved the contestants hanging from ropes over a swimming pool. Titled 'Hanging There', it was used to test the contestants' mental and physical strength. The object was to hold on for the longest, thus gaining immunity from elimination this week. Out of the first batch of hopefuls, Karen and Paddy were the final contestants left hanging, but it was the Irish hopeful who ended up holding the rope for the longest. In the second batch, Zandela caused concerns for everyone as she struggled to overcome her fear of water. However, her willingness to still take part in the challenge won her praise from Angie and her rivals. The last person hanging in the second batch was Rob - though he had to cling on longer to beat Paddy's earlier time. After lasting over three minutes, he easily overtook the Irish contestant and earned immunity. His strength and determination in the task saw him tagged as "one to watch" by his fellow competitors.

The Weigh-In:
Will (-11lbs) & Paddy (-7lbs) - 2.93%
Rob: (-8lbs) 2.68%
Mark (-7lbs) & Karen (-9lbs) 2.29%
Ayanda (-5bs) & Zandela (-6lbs) 2.25%
Sara (-4lbs) & Claire (-5lbs) -1.71%
Paul (-7lbs) & Joanne (-2lbs) - 1.58%

The Result
It was not a tough decision for the other contestants when it came to saving one of the bottom couples from elimination. Sara and Claire were offered a reprieve after a disappointing week, while Paul & Joanne's perceived lack of effort in some of the challenges cost them votes. Criticising their attitude, Rob commented: "If you don't do what you're supposed to, you will end up with low numbers - and that's what they got." It was a whitewash verdict as Will & Paddy, Rob, and Mark & Karen sent Paul & Joanne home. At the end of the episode Davina McCall revealed that the departing couple would not leave without help from The Biggest Loser team. They were given free gym membership and offered support from The Biggest Loser Club. McCall also teased that next week's show will be an 'All For One and One For All' week.
