'The Only Way is Essex' stars want 'Hangover'-style movie version

Stars of The Only Way is Essex have said that they want a movie version of the show to be made.

Plans for a possible film spinoff of the ITV reality series have reportedly been discussed by producers, according to the Daily Star.



The show's Ricky Rayment said: "TOWIE: The Movie, I'd be all over that. We could make it like Hangover III but in Marbella.

"They did an S Club 7 and Spice Girls movie I think. We could do something similar, just tongue-in-cheek. Even if it was s**t, people would go see it once, so they would make their money."

Sam Faiers added: "It would have to be tongue-in-cheek. Like a spoof movie which was scripted and we were just having a laugh."

A special episode of the series taking place in Marbella is already in the works, with an airdate set for later this year.

The Only Way is Essex star Maria Fowler has recently apologised for using the phrase "half-breed" in relation to X Factor runner-up Marcus Collins.

The show returned for a fifth series last month (April 15).
