Former The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs has revealed that she was told she would not be welcomed back onto the show following her exit.

Childs expressed surprise that Lauren Goodger had been given the option to return to TOWIE after filming her final appearance last month, as that had not been the case when she left after the second series in early 2011.

"I was really shocked to hear that the TOWIE producers have decided to let anyone who now leaves the show, including Lauren Goodger, back in the future," she wrote in her New column.

"When I left to appear in Celebrity Big Brother, they told me that I could never go back, but now it seems the rules have changed.

"I loved being a part of TOWIE, but I don't regret leaving when I did. Still, it would have been nice to have been given the option to go back if I wanted to."

Childs also said that she is excited by rumours of Goodger joining the next series of Dancing on Ice.

"I'd love to see her on there," she said. "Although I hope she's good on skates because ice skating is bloody hard work."

Childs recently told Digital Spy that she would be up for appearing in a TOWIE reunion special.
