9pm - 10pm
9.02pm: Ray has gone outside for a swim and jumps into the pool as Fed tells Scott 'there's tons of stuff over here', while Cameron tells the pair that 'it's all washed' before Jon thinks that 'it's just folded rather than washed'; Cameron calls Nush a 'stinky bum' as Sissy comments that she's onto roll-up cigarettes as she's run out of normal ones. The sound is dipped as Jon continues to recite the Scout laws, while Ray continues to swim; Jon wonders when nominations are on Monday as Nush states 'I can't think of anything and anyone'. Cameron recalls the fact that 'you have to give a valid reason' as Gos mentions that it'll probably be held in the daytime.
9.04pm: As Sissy again says that she can't think of anyone to nominate, Gos tells Scott that it was easier to nominate last time as 'you didn't really know anyone'; Scott states that he's not going to think about it as Sissy mentions that she's going to try and find the person she likes the least and find 'the people I really want to be here'. 'That's the only way I can get my head around this', she says as Scott warns her that her comments could be construed as influencing people's nomination methods. Fed is now in the pool as Gos states that he wants to speak to the 'sexy Big Brother' quite soon; Nush sings 'Hey Mickey' as Gos tells her not to panic about nominations until they've got the Scout task out of the way.
9.07pm: 'Where are you, you little pumpkin?', Nush tells Sissy in the bathroom and cuddles her as she appears to be crying again; 'I really don't know what to do - I can't do it', she says as Nush mentions that it'll be difficult for her either. 'It's OK Scott, if you know someone you wanna pick' Sissy says as Nush comments that women like to talk about things and men like to put up a tough front and say 'don't worry'; 'it's cold, the whole thing', Nush says before stating that she 'can't be bothered to try and find a reason' anymore. Sissy wonders 'who makes me the least happiest' which is how she'll base her nominations on; 'it'll have to come down to that as I've gelled with everyone', while Nush comments that the experience will 'not be right anymore' with people going.
9.09pm: 'I don't even wanna use people', Nush says as Sissy comments that the experience is 'hard'; 'the people you choose could leave', Nush states before mentioning that she doersn't want to have to carry that burden. 'Last week I couldn't live with myself as I nominated people who I liked', which Sissy agrees with; 'you feel like 'I'm a shit'', she says before Sissy mentions that she couldn't tactically vote either as 'what happens when the person you like ended up walking?'. She mentions that she went in the garden to try and think before stating that she doesn't want to think about it; 'I know I'm going to go to bed and think about it', Nush says before Sissy states that she couldn't live with herself if she tactically voted.
9.12pm: 'I can't handle being in that room', says Sissy about the diary room.
9.16pm: Back in the bathroom, Nush tells Sissy that she 'can't talk about' how she voted as Gos comes into the bathroom; 'I left because I was gonna cry', she tells Gos as Gos states that BB are 'horrible' for making them nominate as they're all getting on well. 'I don't wanna be the reason for someone leaving', Sissy says with Gos pointing out that 'no-one wants to be the reason' before adding that he was upset with what happened on Friday. 'I can't pick a name out of a hat either', Sissy says before mentioning that she'd 'die' if her name came up; 'that's not selfish, that's human nature', Gos says before mentioning that you have to 'take it on the chin and think of your family you'll see if you get evicted'. Sissy wonders whether she'll be able to think of it like that.
9.19pm: 'You don't know how you'll feel until it happens', Sissy says as Gos mentions that 'this group's gonna get smaller' and that evictions are an inevitable part of the experience; them and Nush comment that they may as well return from the bathroom as they'll feel miserable tomorrow as well, and after they try and see if the door to the secret room will open again, Nush comments that they've managed to get through a bottle of concentrated Scotch in one day as Sissy states that they've managed to break a bit of the hidden room door off.
9.21pm: Jon gets Sissy to test him on the history of Scouting; it perhaps won't surprise you to learn that the guy who remembers the whole of Lord of the Rings and Star Wars books remembers the information impeccably and recites it to Sissy, who nods; Nush comments that she's 'rolling a fag' as she talks to Fed, Scott, Ray and Cameron outside. 'I fancy menthol cigarettes', Nush says as Ray reads the laminate in the pool containing the Scout laws; the sound is duly dipped.
9.23pm: Ray gets a round of applause as he identifies which of the housemates fill the Jungle Book character-inspired roles; 'you're Ikea!', Cameron jokes to Gos before Nush says that she's 'Love Shack' or something like that. Sissy laughs as she smokes a cigarette before stating that she didn't know that girls could be in the Scouts; 'I thought they went in the Girl Guides', Ray says before mentioning the Scout laws in a wimpy voice. Fed does likewise but slips up on one of the lines of the laws, while Gos calls for Jon to remember something as Scott remembers that the Scout motto is 'Be Prepared'; Nush wonders why one of the Scout roles is named after a Swedish furniture store.
9.26pm: The sound is dipped as Ray recalls the history of Baden-Powell, while Sissy flicks through the pages of the laminate as Ray continues to read Baden-Powell's life and times from the laminate before the sound is dipped again; Cameron takes a laminate from Sissy to read as Nush wonders what a 'pootang' is, I think. Fed and others comment that it's quite a private part of the body, while Ray continues to read the laminate and everyone quietens down to listen to him. 'I think you're getting a bit close there', Gos tells Fed as Cameron yawns loudly and Nush recalls that Rudyard Kipling was a friend of Baden Powell.
9.29pm: Scott and Ray ask the others to quiz them on the Scout information they've learnt so far.
Chris Brannigan has further details on what the camping task entails, as directed by the Scout Guide Book:
1.. With other Cub Scouts, camp under canvas for at least three nights (not necessarily on the same occasion).
2.. Help pack your kit for a Cub Scout camp.
3.. Help to pitch and strike a tent and know how to take care for it.
4.. At camp, help to prepare, cook, serve and clear away a simple meal, if possible out of doors.
5.. Know the basic health and safety rules for camp and how to prepare for tent and kit inspection.
6.. Take part in at least one of the following activities while at
- Camp fire
- Scout's Own
- Wide Game
- Joint activity with other Cub Scouts on site or from a local Group.
- A Good Turn for the site
- Any suitable similar activity
- Help to tidy up the camp site before you leave.
A Wide Game (IIRC) is a game that takes place in a large space like
orientering or something. A Scout's Own is a special type of ceremony
that expresses the spirit of Scouting. It is called a Scout's Own
because troop and their leader plan it themselves. It's an opportunity
for troop to express their thoughts and feelings about being a member of
the scouting community (and I got that from a website not from my
Sounds fun, doesn't it?
9.35pm: Sissy gets up from her bean bag at the side of the pool to go inside the house and speak to BB in the diary room, while the guys in the pool propose to call themselves by their Cubs role names as Scott states that Baloo is 'a wise bear' and the others are 'observants'; 'ratchshar' is a mother wolf and 'akela' is the mother leader who gives the group strength; Tania waits to go into the toilet as Fed comments on the albatross in the Jungle Book and Scott continues to quiz him as the sound is dipped.
9.37pm: Ray swims backwards to the edge of the pool as Tania replaces Jon in the toilet, while everyone outside begins to sing 'I Wanna Be Like You' from the Jungle Book as a rather morose looking Cameron looks towards the pool; everyone continues singing as Fed, Ray and Scott continue to circuit the pool. Fed asks what the name of the character who sung the song before wondering whether the monkey was 'king of the jungle'; I thought it was Phil Tufnell, Fed... Gos states that there's no Sheer Khan in the Cub roles as they begin to sing 'The Bare Necessities'.
9.39pm: Nush claps along as Feed B picks up a sleeping Justine on the nightvision camera in the girls bedroom; Ray says that he watches his little brother's Disney videos from time to time as Sissy comes back from the diary room with baskets for the battery change as Cameron and Gos come back inside to the kitchen and swap their batteries over. Fed sings 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' before observing that Baden Powell was inspired by the Jungle Book; Ray mentions 'The Lion King' as Fed sings 'Akoonamatada'. Ray tells Scott that the Cubs were founded in 1916, the first annual was published in 1935 (which is wrong) and in 1966, the Cubs name changed.
9.42pm: Inside the house, Jon mentions that 'Ricky is coming out - she's a mongoose', before talking about another of the Cub roles, while Sissy changes her batteries as Scott comes to the side of the pool as Nush states that she was in the Girl Guides for a while and they had to do some 'really basic sewing' and had to 'cook a sausage'; 'you got yellow badges', Nush says as Fed mentions that when he was in the Cubs or a similar group the uniform was brown - the sound is then dipped. Everyone begins to sing 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' outside, while inside the house, Gos tells Jon that he's 'a mathematican' as Cameron tells him where to put the cheese.
9.45pm: 'I need a shit, man', Gos says as Jon comments that he had his 'third poo' in the house today; 'we're all eating well', Gos says as he, Jon and Cameron return outside and Gos comments that he'll 'have a shit in a minute'. Fed tries to splash the housemates outside of the pool as Nush and Scott again sing 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' and Gos does an impression of Cameron saying 'och, no!'. Nush says that she 'doesn't know' what she's doing as Fed splashes Scott, while Cameron looks on a little disdainfully as Fed talks about a Jean-Claude Van Damme movie and Nush wonders if her feet are rubbing.
9.47pm: 'Did you see the evilness!', Nush says as Cameron looks at Fed, while Scott tells Ray 'don't you dare pull my shorts down, boy'; Nush recites the 'round and round the garden' rhyme before Cameron talks to her about a nephew of his, I think.
9.52pm: As Sissy sits in the lounge reading some of the Scout information laminates as Jon tests himself against them, Cameron and Nush do the same outside as Scott tests her; 'I don't know the Cub Scouts promise!', she says as Scott reminds her. Cameron says that he can't get the law as Nush mentions that she'll be fine on remembering the dates; 'I promise to do my duty to God and to the Queen', Nush says before she slips up again and Cameron corrects her again; 'does it have to be word perfect?', Nush says before reciting the law in a manner anything but word-perfect. Cameron also slips up before wondering whether 'Cub Scouts do their best'.
9.55pm: Inside the house, Sissy reads the laminate as Jon continues to remember everything he can; Sissy gets up and comes to the kitchen as Jon hums to himself. Sissy eats some bits and pieces from the kitchen; 'potato cakes, been there for days', she tells Jon before stating that 'they'll start to go brown in the fridge'. Jon's replies are inaudible as Sissy wonders whether she should press the diary room buzzer again, while back outside, Cameron states that he would be having supper at home right about now as his words are drowned out by Scott's. 'We'd be having sausage rolls - suppery things', he says before mentioning that he hasn't got himself totally drunk since he was 17; 'I don't go to the pub that often', Nush says as Cameron states that he's only been totally drunk twice in his life.
9.58pm: 'Now I live in the countryside I hardly go out at all', Nush says before stating that she can't afford to spend a lot on trips out; 'I do like to go out for some music or a show though', she tells Cameron before he tries to recall the role of 'Bagheera' after being asked by Scott. Nush tries to remember the full list of roles in the Cubs as Cameron tells Scott not to 'drip all the chlorine' on the potato cakes Sissy offers people; Cameron gets the one with the least tomato sauce on it.
