4pm - 5pm

By
4.00pm: Nush comments that the Dutch holidaymakers were so bad that she pretended to be ill so that she wouldn't have to attend to them; 'they filled the cabinets with beer cans and threw darts at them', she says as Steph comes to the reward room. Nush states that English tourists are tame drinkers as Ray comments that Irish tourists are fairly heavy drinkers; the sound is dipped as Ray drinks his pint and Steph listens to Nush; Scott says that he can't remember how many pints a week he claimed on his form as 'it varies so much'.

4.02pm: Ray comments that the question was difficult for him to answer too as Steph jokes that she put down that she drink a couple of bottles of wine a week; 'I'm always around wine', she says as Ray encourages her to make some wine with a kit. 'I've had some trouble with those', Steph says as the sound is dipped. 'It was a simple kit and it tasted so strong', she says as Lisa continues to cook the pasta bolognaise in the kitchen; the chickens are heard clucking as Nush returns to the reward room.

4.04pm: Cameron goes into the diary room as Scott gets one of the snooker cues and chalks it up, while Ray continues to get Steph to buy a wine making kit 'as it tastes better than ordinary wine'; Steph reckons that she only needs a bit of practice as Scott begins to play billiards. 'Have you seen these wine and blackcurrant kits?', Steph mentions as Nush talks about the 'weird' flavours that they come in; 'dinner will be ready soon and it looks yummy', says Nush as Ray mentions that he's looking forward to it as 'I haven't had spaghetti in ages'. Steph comments that the rolls are nice; 'I'm suprised about that', Scott tells her.

4.06pm: Nush states that Cameron has gone into the diary room as Scott hits the yellow ball on the billiard table, while Lisa grates some cheese in the kitchen and fetches some garlic from the fridge; Ray drinks his pint as Nush tries to look through one of the mirrors to the garden, but sees nothing as 'they've covered it up'. Scott continues to play billiards by himself as the sound gets dipped; 'we might get some food down the hatch as well as music', says Steph as Ray wonders whether the 'traditional Irish cuisine' will consist of cabbage and ham. 'I didn't like cabbage until I came in here and had it in soups', he says.

4.08pm: Steph states that her parents used to take her to pubs at a young age and told her to 'savour your Coke', while Ray wonders what tunes will be played tonight; Steph tells him that BB probably had the tunes arranged already as Ray wonders whether the Corrs will be played tonight.

'Ivor Biggun' has got back in touch about Liverpool's Bar-Celona; "Your feet stick to the floor thanks to all the spilt alcopops the 14yr olds in there drink!!" OK... Pablo agrees that "Barcalona is a shocking bar! Anyone that visits Liverpool must not go there! There are plenty of superb bars in Liverpool. Barcelona isn't one of them!", while 'D' talks about the bar Ray mentioned; "zanzi bar in dublin is the spot ray is on about.....one of the better places"

Well, if any other Liverpudlians would like to disparage Bar-Celona, or indeed if any French Alps reps agree or disagree with Nush's comments for that matter, get in touch by filling in the form above.

4.14pm: Nush mentions that BB told her 'we'll get back to you' about the request she's just made on the BB phone; 'we'll have dinner and then get on the lash', says Scott as everyone leaves the reward room to have bolognaise. Cameron tells everyone that BB will not provide them with eggs if the chickens are coming up short before wondering whether the chickens will lay them in places other than the coop; 'I'll let you all serve yourselves', Lisa tells the housemates as everyone sits down and begins to cut their bread rolls, which Scott thinks 'seem nice'.

4.16pm: Cameron rubs his hands as Lisa watches everyone get stuck in with a rather negative look on her face; she laughs as Cameron sprinkles some cheese on his bolognaise and Steph and Nush tell Lisa that the meal is 'lovely'. Ray comments that the chickens are 'going mad' in the garden as Scott wonders whether they'll be laying eggs 'all over the place' as a result, while Ray tastes the bread rolls and begins to choke jokingly before mentioning that 'they're really nice'; 'it reminds me of home', he says as Lisa tells Scott that she's been 'picking so much' in the kitchen while making dinner.

4.18pm: Nush requests some of the veggie cheese as she eats her bread roll, while Scott mentions that the meal is 'very nice' and pours himself and Ray some wine; Cameron turns it down as Nush states that she isn't drinking hers, so will give it to something else. Cameron drinks some Ribena as Lisa states that she'll have some wine when she gets into the reward room later; 'I didn't think I've made enough but it's plenty', she says as Scott encourages her to put the leftovers in the fridge to use again. 'I'm picturing someone dressed as a leprachaun drinking on the bar', says Ray as Scott states that he doesn't think they'll get the costumes.

4.21pm: Cameron mentions that BB asked him 'are you growing a beard?' before the sound is dipped, while Ray proposes to grow a moustache as Scott tries to get Cameron to take part with him in a beard growing contest. 'We should grow a goatee like Gos', says Cameron as Ray mentions that they'll look like French poets; 'don't forget all this', says Scott to him as Lisa mentions that the girls can 'grow Gos beards' with her black eyeliner to paint it on. Steph could probably do it without, come to think of it...

4.23pm: Feed A shows both casserole dishes on the table as Nush laughs while envisaging Cameron with a moustache that curls up at the end, while Lisa states that she enjoyed cooking the meal today as Scott mops up his bolognaise with a bread roll; Ray asks Cameron if he has alopecia as Scott claps his hands, while Ray states 'as a wise man said to me, 'you look striking''. 'He wasn't that wise but he knew what he was talking about', says Scott as Cameron states that he's only seen aurora borealis twice in his life; Nush doesn't know what that is until he tells her it's also known as the Northern Lights.

4.25pm: Cameron tells Ray that the sun effect he's talking about happen in America when the sunbeams hit the snow; Ray wonders what aurora borealis is and Cameron describes it as 'an atmospheric phenomenon which makes different colours show in the air'. He states that he's only been able to see it in Orkney as his street has no street lighting; 'it felt like you were under a colourful roof', he says as Nush proposes to go for a sleep soon. She goes to the kitchen and puts her plate and cutlery in the sink as Ray states that he'd like to see more natural phenomena.

4.27pm: Ray states that a tornado landed in Dublin a year and a half ago and comments that he saw it from his train ride home while telling himself 'nah, we don't get tornados in Dublin'; he had to change his mind when he saw it on the news that evening. Nush sunbathes outside as Scott talks about the town of Towyn being flooded ten years ago 'due to a high tide and flooding'; he tells Ray that it wasn't anything to do with the great storm of 1987 as Ray remembers that Michael Fish said 'nothing to worry about' the day before the hurricane.

4.29pm: Cameron remembers the Aberfan school slag heap disaster of the 60s and states that he remembers 'watching it on the TV'; Ray sniggers at the term 'slag heap' before wondering if all the kids there were killed.

Duffy sets me straight on my billiards descriptions: "Billiards is a game with white and red balls played with bililard cues. The cues maybe identical to snooker cues but the latter has the full range of couloured balls while pool and bar billiards (though not mentioned in your text) is usual in pubs. Only pool and snooker out of the games mentioned has a yellow ball." Wasn't billiards a game which died a death when 'The Indoor League' went off the air?

4.35pm: Ray sings 50 Cent's 'In Da Club' as Cameron wonders whether the reward room would've been opened for someone's birthday; 'we won't get to find out now', says Scott as Ray rubs his eyes and Lisa mentions that her bolognaise effort 'wasn't in vain'. Ray compliments her on the dish as Lisa comments that she can make spag bol with her eyes closed; the sound is dipped as she begins to wash up, while Steph wonders what the tijme is as she and Nush sunbathe outside.

4.37pm: At the dining table, Ray proposes that everyone will 'dress up a bit' to go to the pub this evening as Scott suggests that he'll put his shorts on soon; Lisa collects the empty glasses from the table as the sound is dipped; she comes outside and lights up a cigarette before saying 'it's hot, isn't it?' to Steph and Nush. Her hair is full of rollers, for some reason... back inside the house, Ray pours himself some more wine as the sound stays dipped, while Cameron mentions that he's 'very white' as Scott gets up from the table.

4.39pm: 'It was like 'drop the hip, move that'', says Ray as Scott goes to the toilet, while Cameron states that he got Nush 'good and well' when she left from the toilet; 'I couldn't be bothered to do it!', he says as Ray talks about the 3d image they made of each housemates and wonders whether they'll be transplanted into a BB video game. 'You'll be stamping around the house kicking the furniture', Cameron jokes before stating that he 'can't believe' they'll be in a video game. Ray says that he now feels 'alright' after nominating before commenting that BB told him to stop dropping hints; 'BB takes it very seriously', they told him, but obviously not serious enough to pull him up last night.

4.41pm: 'Next week is gonna be even madder', Cameron tells Ray as the sound is dipped again, while Lisa looks around the garden with a cigarette in her hand and notices that one of the black and white speckled chickens pecked another one 'right in the bum'; Steph and Nush don't reply, but continue to sunbathe as Ray wonders how BB could've shown the nominations live. 'These high mics have got the same name as our mics', says Cameron as Ray wonders what the two cameras in boxes are for; 'they're webcams, or it could be a wide-angle one', says Cameron.

4.43pm: Cameron talks about the interactive options with BB; 'if you want to follow Ray, press red', he says as Ray states that two of the feeds show two and four hour replays. Why did they get rid of those? Cameron asks if anyone is eating the picked egg left as the sound gets dipped again, while Lisa continues to look at the chicken coop, although it's hard to tell her expression as she has her sunglasses on.

Now far be it from me to let this update turn into an advertising spot, but 'genuine Scouser' Freddie e-mails to say: "yeah barcelona is the pits if you want a good night out in the pool then get down to matthew street and the arena square als the chillout rooms opposite the cream are funky get down people and chill out." If you say so, Freddie... Finally, Duffy suggests that the 'Indoor League' "is probably still shown as "highlight of the day" in the Orkeneys!" That and 23 hours of 'Farming Today', I'm sure...

4.50pm: Lisa continues to sit outside unspoken as Scott tells Ray that the meal 'was very nice', and Ray agrees; Lisa gets up and heads back inside to tell Ray that the sun has gone in before mentioning that Steph and Nush are asleep. Cameron states that he's 'eaten too much' as Ray bites his nails; Lisa is told that no-one wants a drink as Scott again proposes to have a sleep. 'The drink does get you tired', Ray mentions as Cameron notices a brown mark on Scott's T-shirt; 'there's always been a mark on it', Scott says before stating that it needs washing again.

4.52pm: 'Stephanie's body looks crumpled', Scott says before mentioning that she and Nush have 'got a load of sleep in the last couple of days'; the sound is dipped as Cameron tells Ray that he could 'hardly speak' when he got up this morning. 'I thought I was going to be sick inside the diary room - imagine getting sick on the chair', Ray says as Scott yawns; 'what else will today bring? More alcohol I feel', Scott says as Ray mentions that when the announcement of the reward room opening came today, he said 'no, no'.

4.54pm: Ray tells Cameron that BB asked him to expand 'but I can't tell you any more' as Scott states 'we'll find out tomorrow'; Cameron says that another bolt has fallen off the lawnmower as both feeds freeze, which is strange as it's actually blue skies and sunshine outside for once. Further investigation shows that the E4 feeds appear to have totally fallen off the air for a brief moment, until we return with Lisa drinking something out of an orange can in the reward room.

4.56pm: Lisa gets behind the bar as Scott swings around in his chair, while Lisa leaves the reward room as Scott states that he isn't bothered if Ray gets him to do all the chores; 'I don't mind it, and I went at my own pace', he says as Lisa pours herself a drink of water at the kitchen sink. 'Outside was dirtier than inside, certainly', Scott states before mentioning that the outside of the swimming pool was 'filthy'; 'in the Africa house, all the mirrors are the size of that blue screen', Cameron says as Ray states that they've put more mirrors in the house than ever before in his view.

4.58pm: 'It'll be funny what we notice on the tape when we watch it', says Cameron as Ray states that the Johnny 5 camera at the top of the wall probably hasn't been used at all; Scott disagrees.

Pushka asks: "Aberfan disaster took place in 1966. How old is Cameron again??" 32, so it took place four or five years before he was born; perhaps he saw a repeat at a later stage. Finally, Duffy wonders why asthma sufferer Lisa is smoking again: "How many fags did she take with her into the house or has a ciggy machine been put into the pub?" She brought in 200 if memory serves, but there isn't a machine in the pub... alas.

Anyway, that's it for now - I'll be back at 8pm.
