10.00 - 11.00

Published Thursday, Aug 5 2004, 10:00 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly
Good morning and welcome to live updates on the penultimate day of Big Brother 5. Stuart left last night, and I'll be with you over the next 2 hours to see how the housemates are coping!

janette graham: "i can't believe stu is out! jason must have been a pilot in a previous life as he knows how to fly below the radar! at least michelle will be happy tonight!"

Arthur fae Aberdeen: "Stu out??? Shome mishtake shurely. Dull yes, but surely more popular than Shell. Or has Stu-pid been "evicted" by BB before Michelle can do too much media damage to her chicken?"

Feather: "Fantastic(!). How that slimy thing is still in the House is just simply amazing. I actually take my hat off (and shove it hard in his fake tan face). The only thing that is keeping me from switching off now is seeing Nadia win on friday, and Jason coming out 4th and finding out that he is not as popular as he now thinks (unless the twisted voting public decides to keep him in) Whatever "bonding" he attempts to do with the group is too little too late for me, and at the end of it all, the only person who really relished and enjoyed the experience had the least votes. Really sad." I doubt Jason will be out fourth, to be honest. He seems to have built up a fan-base and I think he will make 3rd place at least.

Naz and Lyn: "Well guys I am surprised that Stu was the one to go. But happy that he received cheerings and will be with Mich. All of you who thinks that Stu is using Mich and that Mich does not deserve Stu, well you can see that Stu is certain that he will have future with Mich I really really hope so. I do find they make a great couple. You can see how Stu's expression when he realised that Michelle is there. You can see that he misses Michelle though he looked akward when he is shown the tabloids. He even told Davina that he doesnt feel that Mich is too jealous so who gave the right for others to say that Mich is too jealous. It is goood enough for Mich to admit that she is jealous type.I wish them all the best please people, do not talk bad about their relationship let the couple starts their relationship in the outside world peacefully. Really hope things will workout."

nikki: "Well what can I say Stuart apparently received 7% of total voting so far DID HE REALLY or was it somebody else but BB switched it.
Why on E4 at 10.22 Stu wasnt in site but in the Diary room and BB on channel 4 wasnt even on (did I miss something i thought it was live) and why was Stuarts interview by Davina PANTS the Clips for him were crap...LAST MINUTE JOB MAYBE....
And they showed michelle in a bad light nothing showing what positive things she said about him in the diary room.....like her interview did.
And how can Shell beat Stu for gawds sake.
Well no need for me to watch as we no who the winner is SHELL!"

spud: "so, nothing became Stuart's time in the house as his leaving of it. Right to the bitter end, even in his interview with Davina, the poor chap could not construct an answer which made more than passing sense. So long Stuart, and thanks for nothing!"

franco: "this might not be the right place to ask i apologise if its not but i want to post on the forum and it wont let me i just completed the form and when i try it tells me i cant post or start a thread could anyone tell me if there is a correct way to do this or is it that im not allowed to, thankyou" If the problem persists, go here and send a support request.

maria and Lianna from beckenham: "jason nae son and dan aint the man
shell what the hell? and Nadia who man can tell????"

RickSlick: "Nadia is an emotional, smoke-addict, addct insecure wreck. She needs a lot of attention and a Full Time therapist ;) Jason to win as he is the only one not to shower Nadia with fake pampering comments."

JJ: "Look st the on-line newspaper "Daily Record"-Scotland re-A story about Jason and his real Mother who saw and knew it was him on Big Brother. She was 15 when she had him and did not want to have him adopted. She hopes he will want to contact her. Good luck to her and Jason it will be difficult but I hope it works out for them."

mel: "why didnt she tell stu about nadia" I don't know, probably because it came across in quite a tacky fashion when she brought it up in the interviews. Your guess is as good as mine though!

10.00: All of the housemates are currently in bed.

10.09: Still no signs of life in the house at the moment, I'm afraid - I hope Big Brother isn't letting them off with a lie-in after last night!

Sooz: "It's a fix! There is absoloutly no way stu got less votes than Jason or Shell!!!! IT's made a mockery of the whole of Big Brother, no point watching it now!"

bizzylizzy: "Stu was out because everyone was so busy tatical voting for Nads and J that they are forgetting to vote for the others. The others will pay the price in lack of votes"

Maria: "The longer BB5 goes on the more I suspect that Jason is a plant (by BB of course)He is the most arrogant, self centred and creepy looking guy on tv, With his nose, chin and that goatie he looks like wurzil gumidge and if he's lucky enough he, may even find his aunt Sally."

Elsie: "I've really enjoyed reading DB BB updates and news over the past 10 weeks (well done everyone) but now the paranoia and hatred for the hm's is getting out of hand. Stu was a dude and we enjoyed watching him & Michelle but that was it, he didn't make people want to vote for him - either because they assumed everyone else was OR because they prefered the other stronger characters. I was surprised that he still felt strongly aligned to the JC's given that he hadn't really sided with them or anyone in the house. I liked Stu for his overall attitude to life and I hope nothing ever ruins that for him." Thanks Elsie. I agree with you, Stu was a nice guy and I wish him all the best for the future.

Sian: "When Michelle got evicted, Davina didn't tell her about Nadia either, it was all questions about Stu. I was very surprised that he went instead of Shell!! Nadia to win!"

10.24: Back from ads, and the housemates have been woken up by the song "The Final Countdown". Nadia and Shell bounce on their beds, Dan dances, while Jay smiles from the comfort of his bed.

10.25: Nadia squeals and sings along to the song in her own bizarre fashion as she continues to bounce on her bed with Shell. Dan goes into the bathroom, still dancing. As the song winds down, Nadia and Shell lie back down, giving each other high-fives.

10.27: Dan's now in the living area, but we stick with the bedroom. "They've taken the food!" he shouts. "They haven't, have they?" Nadia asks, sounding disappointed, before cackling.

10.28: Nadia starts singing "The Final Countdown" again, as Dan plans to make a cup of tea.

10.29: Left alone in the bedroom, Jay lets out a yawn and gets out of bed. We can still hear Nadia screeching "The Final Countdown" elsewhere in the house.

10.30: Living area. Nadia thinks that the song would be more fitting for tomorrow, but Dan and Shell point out that they are the final four, and therefore the final countdown started last night. Shell thinks that another one of them could be gone by tomorrow.

10.31: BB asks all housemates to ensure that they're wearing their microphones. Nadia's making tea. "Are you having tea as well?" she asks Dan. "Well if that's alright with you, Nadia!" he replies.

10.33: "Who wants a cigarette roll?" Shell asks. "I do!" Nadia replies, but Dan doesn't - "I never want to smoke a cigarette ever again". They discuss what time they went to bed. Dan went to bed after talking to BB in the Diary Room - he told BB that he was going to spend the rest of the evening talking to Nadia and Shell, only to come out and find that they had both gone to bed.

10.34: Adverts.

Kirst: "I agree with you Sooz, it's a complete fix. Bet it shocked everyone wether your a fan or not of
Stuart to see him go last night, completely unexpected and this is the shock value BB wanted
and of course got. Not only playing mind games with the HM but with us also! Arnt I the cynical one?!"

Jayne: "Can I just take this opportunity to say a massive THANK YOU to all the "live updaters" on DS:BB for keeping me and everyone else clued up on what has been happening in the BB house during the past 10 weeks. You do a great job!!" Thanks Jayne! We all appreciate it to hear from happy readers. =)

Tony-in-Mcr: "Trying not to whimper or waffle, here... there could be plenty more surprises in store for tomorrow. What's happened before on reality shows is that people think someone is such a favourite, must have loads of votes and doesn't need THEIR vote - so they don't vote. Big contenders have been knocked out this way in Fame Academy, Pop Idol (especially the US version), and BB. So brace yourself!"

Denise: "I agree with majority of people, although I didnt think Stu would win, no way!!! should Jason still be in there, so can only presume that winner had been decided sometime ago by BB and the bits shown on tv portray the hm's at BB want them. Feels like we all waste our money voting!!"

Snozzwangler: "How do you feel about the Midnight Cowboy going Claire?"

Jackie: "@Maria- Yeah cos anyone that is crazy enough to go out with him would need to be made of wood, what with the way Jason likes to critizise everyone around him and talk non stop about how wonderfull he is, she would have to be void of feelings!!!!!"

Badger: "Who the hell is doing the voting!!!!!
Victor and now Stu gone, there is only Dan left who is remotely funny.
Obviously it will be the sympathy vote that wins it this year.
Previous winners have all been really funny, Craig, Brian and Kate(phwrrrr) alright the downward spiral started last year with Cameron and now it will be Nadia.....pants thats all I can say!"

seank: "Sorry to see Stuart go as he was harmless fun and did'nt deserve to be evicted like that. Last night was quiet sad. When they played La Isla Bonita and Nadia got so upset - all of us in the house were choking back the tears - it was such a sad moment - great song and reminds us all of our youth and probably something sparked in Nadia's past. It was just so spontaneous and real - she cant hide her emotions - if she's happy she shows it and when she is sad she really shows it. How could we not love her - Nadia to win"

Snozzwangler: "Think BizzyLizzy hit the nail on the head. People either really love or detest both Nadia and Jason, and were paranoid that one would go, so forgot to vote for the others. Hence the result.

Poor Stu, and they wouldn't even let him have a tinkle before going out to be squashed in Michelle's arms!" I think they should have let him spend some time with his family before letting Michelle get her claws into him again!

Sam: "My understanding of Michelle's interviews with the press was that she didnt actually admit they did it, is this correct? If so how much of a cow was Davina in showing Stu the headlines making him think she had spilled the beans in order to make him say what happened??!! I think Davina was a real b*tch last night and Stu so was not interested in slagging off Michelle. If Edemol made her follow that line I fully expect her to resign before the next BB"

10.38: Dan brings out a cup of tea for Shell, and makes sure that she doesn't want any more milk in it. She assures him that it's fine.

10.38: He goes into the bathroom, and tells Jason (I think), "Your coffee's by your bed!"

10.39: He returns to the garden and asks Shell and Nadia, "Shall we tidy today? It's something to do, isn't it?"

10.42: Dan potters around the kitchen area. We're being shown this for some reason even though there's probably conversation going on elsewhere with Shell and Nadia in the garden.

10.43: Dan goes outside and joins the 2 girls. Sigh, then we go straight to Jason, alone in bed, drinking his coffee! He sings to himself and lets out a huge yawn.

10.44: Decking. "You know, I'm not sure if I want to get back to drinking again," says Dan. Shell says that she was really worried about there being an eviction last night, and then worries that she might collapse at the doors when she is evicted.

10.45: Shell plans to get a bath or a shower later. "It's definitely the day after a party, isn't it?" Dan comments.

10.48: Silence on the decking... then we go to ads.

Snozzwangler: "I don't think Davina was a bitch. She was just trying to manipulate Stu into spilling the beans. After all, lets face it, we're nosey buggers or we wouldn't watch it ...... so did they or didn't they? Although I think the noises kinda gave it away!"

Laura: "Gobsmacked that Shell was not evicted! In my opinion, Shell is the most fake person in the house. She totally plays to the camera, and that voice...dear Lord it's like listening to some posh wannabe with a limited vocabulary. I mean, has anyone ever listened to her responses to the other HM ? GROAN! Get her out people!. Stop the stategic voting that kept her in. If you want someone to win then VOTE for that person to win. At this point in the game that is all one can do. It was the strategic voting that left Stu out in the cold. If you love Jason, Dan, Nadia or "the poser" (Shell) then vote for that person. I blame us for Stu being evicted!"

Elsie: "I agree with Sam. I was really disappointed with the part of Stu's interview where Davina tried to make it look as though Michelle had admitted all to the papers. From anyone else, that would have got a rise. Shoddy work."

James: "Have to say it came as almost no surprise to me that Stu was the one to leave - it was always going to be him or Shell. For the future I wonder if BB might consider doing the evictions on the same basis - vote for who you want to stay in and the one with least votes goes..."

10.52: Shell's now in the bathroom, talking to herself. Dan comes into the living area and helps himself to the remainder of last night's party food (apparently Big Brother didn't take it away after all, then).

10.54: He returns to the decking and carries on eating. Nadia is now nowhere to be seen (or heard).

10.55: Shell and Nadia both come out into the garden. Shell is holding about 5 Whatever beauty products in her hand. She takes them over to the spa area. Nadia joins Dan on the decking and chats about when they leave the house.

10.56: Nadia wonders what the last song the Spice Girls released was, after Geri left. She remembers that it was "Goodbye my friends" but can't remember the tune. "Priiiiiincessss," she says, and Shell reminds her of the tune.

10.58: Dan points out that the Spice Girls only had 2 good albums, and the third one was a "non-starter".

Changing hours.
