Ofcom: 'Big Brother' complaints soar
Published Tuesday, Jun 17 2008, 11:10 BST | By James Welsh

A spokesperson told Digital Spy that 1,542 complaints about the show have been sent in so far, up from a total of 500 as of Friday.
"The complaints are across a range of issues," the spokesperson added. "Ofcom will now look into the complaints with reference to the Broadcasting Code to decide if they need further investigation."
It is understood that many of the complaints are about the behaviour of Alexandra, who has been involved in a series of rows on subjects ranging from burnt chips to the consumption of toast and even an unmade bed.
The housemate has already been warned by the programme's producers but the complaints have continued to pour in and it has emerged that her car has been vandalised outside her Croydon home.
The complaints tally, despite its recent rapid growth, continues to be dwarfed by the record-breaking 50,000 lodged with both Ofcom and Channel 4 over Jade Goody's infamous role on last year's Celebrity Big Brother.
