Group speculates on evening's events

Big Brother scared them earlier this evening by playing crowd noises into the house as they were gathered in the living area. They were then given a laminate with rules for the "eviction".
However, the group was later told that there would be no eviction this evening, causing them to wonder what was happening instead.
Michael suggested that they might have to take part in a live task, but Rebecca pointed out that the shutters to the garden were not down so it wouldn't be possible for a challenge to be set up.
The general consensus was that there would be a new housemate, but the group was divided as to how many new people there would be, and whether they would join them or enter a secret house. Luke was unimpressed with the latter possibility, saying that the idea was "repulsive".
He suggested that a new couple might enter to "take on Mario and Lisa", while Rebecca thought housemates' ex-partners could arrive.
Rebecca later began listening at the door to the garden, and told the group she had heard: "Please welcome Mark!" However, they were unconvinced, with Luke complaining: "She's made everything up from the eviction to some guy called Mark."
Rebecca soon admitted that she hadn't heard that particular phrase, but was adamant she had heard something.
As time went on, Michael suggested that a new housemate was planned but had dropped out, while most of the housemates began to think nothing was going on at all. Luke was the most vocal, complaining that the evening had been a "downer" and a "waste of time". The group eventually gave up waiting for something to happen and decided to eat the apple crumble Rex had made instead.
"They can turn the crowd noise off now," Luke said. "The joke's over."
