Pairs blinded for today's task

The housemates have been given a task in which they must each be blinded for a period of three hours.

Each housemate must wear light-obstructing goggles while guided around the house by a sighted partner, until Big Brother tells them to switch places. If they complete the task to Big Brother's satisfaction, they will receive a luxury token.

Michael was placed in charge of the task so that he could be on hand to offer tips to the rest of the group. He was also asked to divide them into pairs.

After initially saying he wanted to put people together with the housemates they were most comfortable with, he seemed to listen to Mario’s suggestion that he "brings the group together" by mixing friendship circles.

"Think about people who could help each other out," Stuart suggested. "So no-one’s scrapping."

Jennifer proposed "boy-girl" partners because of a shortage of females in the group, while potentially problematic toilet trips were discussed.

But Michael eventually decided to split the group’s only couple, placing Mario with Rebecca and Lisa with Stuart.

He also paired Kat with Mohamed, Luke with Darnell, Rachel with Dale and Rex with Jen.

Rex was heard groaning when told his partner’s name.
