He gave housemates the thumbs down as he heard boos outside, but faint applause could be heard amid the crowd’s jeers.
The highlights of Mario's interview:
On his fan club of "millions": "I haven’t got a fan club!" he laughed before joking that its members must have had their "backs to the walls" to allow him to be evicted.
On a VT comparing him to The Office’s David Brent: "That was over a few weeks. I wasn’t like that all the time - just some of the time."
On Lisa: "I assure you we’re not [robots]. People think there was a bit of a conspiracy, which is a load of rubbish - balderdash."
On their rows: "I’m protective over her. I could see things going on that she couldn’t see... people blatantly making life difficult for her."
On the couple’s lack of intimacy: "It was [hard], make no bones about it. In the night, it was very hard!"
On marriage: He said he would "possibly" marry Lisa after demanding: "Where’s my divorce papers?"
On Mikey: "There were a few people making snipes about him behind his back, they were pushing doors into him, they were leaving shoes on the floor and they were laughing about it."
On Rachel: "She was sitting on the fence, being a drama actor, playing devil’s advocate."
On Belinda: "Her hearts in the right place, but her snoring isn’t."
On his Italian heritage: "I was born and bred in Lancashire!" he said, admitting he had never been to Italy.
On his experience in the house: "You’ve gotta be in there, sniffing it and scratching it to believe it. It tested me emotionally; it tested me as a character."
