Big Brother obituary: Belinda Harris-Reid

Big Brother obituary: Belinda Harris-Reid
Belinda became the fifth contestant to be evicted from the Big Brother house tonight after an eventful two weeks.

The theatre director entered with fellow newbies Sara and Maysoon on Day 30 as the dust was still settling from Jennifer's eviction.

The new arrivals were thrown straight to centre stage as the models for a street art task. Belinda also amused the group with an early game of 'In Knots', although not all housemates were impressed.

However, the 44-year-old evoked suspicion almost from the moment she entered the compound, with Mario and Lisa believing her to be an actress, Darnell thinking she may have a secret task, and Luke claiming that she had prior knowledge of the series.

She also irritated housemates with her jazz singing, insistence on asking them probing questions and treatment of Mikey during the Irish dancing task. Just four days after her arrival, Luke declared that she was stark raving mad.

But it was Belinda's snoring which provoked the most negative feeling among her fellow housemates. Bex swapped bedrooms after sampling one night of her nocturnal noises, yelling: "This is a monstrosity! I feel like I’m back in the zoo."

A mass exodus from the luxury bedroom quickly followed, much to Darnell's delight. However, despite night after night of disrupted sleep for the luxury group, B-block refused to take Belinda off their hands on Day 35.

On the positive side, she bonded with fellow housemate Lisa towards the end of her stay. Lisa said she was intensely drawn to her on Day 40, during a conversation in which they expressed their fascination with each other.

Belinda also threw herself into the tasks, enjoyed a mass food fight and accepted her status as a housemate from Hell while pledging to keep matters civil between the two sides. On Day 42, she scored a personal triumph by cycling for half an hour for the first time in her life. She finished her part of the Vive la France task in tears, complaining that the pain was worse than childbirth.
