Big Brother Obituary: Luke Marsden

Luke Marsden became the seventh contestant to be evicted from the Big Brother house on Day 58.

The 21-year-old student lost out in an eight-way vote after being put up for eviction alongside Darnell, Luke, Kathreya, Mohamed, Rachel, Rex and Stuart.

Luke was immediately thrown in at the deep end by Big Brother when he was asked to take part in the wedding task during week one. Luke, along with Lisa, attempted to assist Mario and Stephanie into tricking the housemates that they were a genuine couple. The part-time wrestler survived being put up for eviction during the first week after the quartet failed to fool their fellow contestants.

He struck up friendships with Mario and Jennifer during his opening weeks in the house. At one point he admitted to having a crush on Jen, who he described as looking like "Sleeping Beauty".

Rex commented a few times on Luke's tendency to gossip, describing him as "a stirrer" when Sara, Maysoon and Belinda arrived.

Luke spent a large amount of time in the house complaining about the behaviour of Kat and Rachel. He suggested that Kat was a gimmick" and argued that Rachel was using a gameplan to ensure she won the £100,000. However, he rarely confronted the duo about his dislike for them.

On Day 26, he was sent to jail after discussing nominations in code, but was released by Rebecca, who used the house's Get Out Of Jail Card to make sure that he could nominate.

Luke's best friend in the house was Rebecca, who he grew close to following the evictions of Jennifer and Mario. They shared their first kiss in bed on Day 37 and smooched on several other occasions in the luxury bedroom. During one session, Bex accidentally touched his manhood, believing it was his hand.

On Day 38, he campaigned to become the first Head Of House, but lost out to Darnell in the final vote. The following day, Darnell selected him to be placed on the Hell side of the divide. He was moved to Heaven when Dale took control the following week.

Luke was given a French-themed 21st birthday party, which he celebrated with Dale, Darnell and Rebecca on Day 39.

When Rebecca kissed Mo for a dare, Luke expressed his displeasure at her actions and told his friend that he felt like he had been punched in the chest". When she was evicted from the house, she left him her cuddly toy Flakey as a gift.

Following Rebecca's departure, Luke told housemates that he had been unaware of how strong his feelings for her had been. He later claimed that he, Lisa and Dale should form The Hearbreak Club because they had all lost close friends in the house.

After failing to eat a single item in the chili task, Luke was sent back to Hell during Stuart's reign as Head Of House.

During Day 55, Luke was informed that he would be up for eviction against Dale. However, Big Brother then placed seven other housemates up after they were caught discussing nominations.

Luke told his fellow housemates that he was "hot favourite" to leave the house, but also claimed he didn't want to leave before Mohamed.
