Darnell injures eye with garden plant

Mikey told Rachel tonight that Darnell "got his eyeball poked out by a plant" as he played in the garden.

The songwriter had been enjoying a game of softball with Rex when he sustained the injury, going on to complain that his sight had become more blurred in one eye.

He vowed to play on by covering his right eye.

Mikey had earlier asked Darnell to explain his sight impairment, but Darnell said it was hard to describe. He claimed that he embarrassed himself every day in some way because of it.

When Mikey suggested that he use his cane, Darnell said he did not like to be seen with it.

Darnell continued by saying: "I’m not blind enough for the bind people, but I’m not sighted enough for the sighted. It's the story of my life."
