Ex-housemate Sree 'slashed his wrists'

Former housemate Sree was rushed to hospital last week after slashing his wrists, according to reports.

Paramedics were called to the contestant's student home in the early hours of Friday, according to The Sun.

Sree allegedly became upset while watching an episode of Big Brother, a source told the newspaper. He was discharged from hospital after receiving treatment for cuts and lacerations.

There was no suggestion of a suicide bid, and Sree was well enough to appear on Big Brother's Big Mouth that night.

Channel 4 arranged for Sree to be cared for by a psychologist over the weekend. A spokesman said: "Housemates' welfare is of paramount importance. There is a well-established and extensive after-care system in place for all housemates.

"Sree continues to be given ongoing support by the production team and regular access to the show's psychologist."

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the University of Hertfordshire added: "We are aware of the incident that took place last Thursday evening. We are offering ongoing support to Sree as part of our usual student support procedures."
