After an audience member asked why he hadn't chopped off his locks for £15,000, he explained that he didn't want to do it for the money.
"If loads of people wrote to me and said, 'Give me a bit of your hair', I would cut every bit of hair off," he remarked. "I don't like rugs being pulled from underneath me."
George Lamb suggested that fans text in to ask for some of the window fitter's hair and he soon agreed to chop it off. Davina found a hairdresser in the audience, and Marcus stood up to get a haircut.
"If there's people who genuinely want it," he insisted. "You can't have it all. As long as you genuinely want it."
However, in the end Marcus only agreed to have a small amount cut off.
After the trim, he complained: "You're not a hairdresser."
