Davina speaks out about the end of BB

Davina McCall has talked candidly about the news that Big Brother 11 will be the final series.

Speaking on the official website, Davina expressed her sadness at the announcement, and said: "This week has been such a shocker. Even though I kind of knew it was coming to an end... I think [Channel 4] have been very brave to stick with it as long as they have."

She told fans that it was an emotional day, and said: "I just felt really sad, I sat and cried for a bit. It was kind of a weird day, I felt like I was grieving the loss of a friend."

The host added that she would also miss a lot of the staff that work "behind the scenes", before speaking about what viewers can expect from the final series in 2010.

"I think that next year will be silly... We'll definitely go out with a bang," she remarked, adding: "I certainly will be quite naughty, I'm not sure in what way or how but it could involve some shenanigans in the house or something."

Davina has previously spoken about her desire to audition for the show, but revealed that her husband would not let her.

"I'd probably just pick my nose or fart or something, I'd just never live it down," she laughed.

She finished by offering the hope that Big Brother would return in "another guise".

"It's a good format... There's life in the old dog yet," she said.
