Marcus's BB eviction brings in 2.4 million

According to early figures, the eviction of Akin - dubbed 'Wolverine' because of his unusual facial hair - averaged 2.36m (15.6%) for Channel 4 at 10.35pm. The earlier highlights show pulled in 2.27m (11%) in the 9pm hour, while E4's Big Brother's Big Mouth followed the eviction show with a decent 356k (4%).
Elsewhere, ITV1 had a poor showing for its live coverage of the UEFA Super Cup game between Barcelona and Shakhtar Donetsk. Overall, the match averaged just 1.82m (9.3%) between 7.30pm and 10.40pm.
BBC One's Inspector George Gently had a respectable 4.61m (22.7%) over 90 minutes from 8.30pm.
The Tudors logged 1.72m (9.5%) for BBC Two between 9pm and 10.30pm, a fall of over 400k on the previous week's opener.
In the 8pm hour, Mastermind brought in 2.21m (10.9%) to the channel, then Gardeners' World kept 1.98m (9.9%) until 9pm. C4's A Place In The Sun: Home Or USA? put in 1.41m (7%) for the hour, while on Five, You're Nicked! took 1.16m (5.8%).
Later on Five, NCIS interested 1.23m (6%) then Law & Order: Criminal Intent maintained 1.24m (7%). CSI: Miami closed off prime with 488k (4.7%) in the 11pm hour.
Overall, BBC One led primetime on Friday with an average audience share of 24.8%. ITV1 was down to a disappointing 11.7%, while Channel 4 took third place with 8.2% (+1: 0.7%). BBC Two had 8.7% and Five finished last with 5.1%.
Elsewhere, ITV2's reruns of the first week of The X Factor proved popular in multichannel homes. A repeat of the ITV1 show put in 437k (2.8%) from 6.30pm, with a further 201k (1.1%) on timeshift, then at 8pm, The Xtra Factor improved the audience to 507k (2.8%). The ITV2+1 screening had 187k (1%) from 9pm.
