The 29-year-old kissed Sophie goodbye while Siavash ran out of the toilet to say his farewells.
David wished the pair luck and thanked Big Brother as he ran up the stairs. He left the compound to a mixed reception with his arms in the air.
He then sat down with Davina to discuss his time on the series.
The highlights of David's interview:
On how he's feeling: "Absolutely bloody brilliant!"
On coming third: "I am surprised that I came third. Obviously I came in halfway, I didn't think I had a chance. When I found out on Tuesday I was going to be in the final it hit me hard. I did obviously come in halfway, so I'm so happy. Happy, happy, happy."
On being a Big Brother fan: "I've watched every series from day one."
On watching the show before he went in: "I went in there with an open book. I did watch people and had my favourites, but you can't have favourites and go in and stick with them because you might not get on with them."
On Lisa: "She was just a strong woman. Lisa's a very strong woman, the strongest woman I've ever met in my life."
On Lisa leaving: "It was awful, when I had my birthday and she wasn't there I was devastated. She's been my rock in the house and she's going to be my rock all the way through life, because if someone is my friend it's all or nothing. If I was a woman, she would be with me."
On receiving a letter from Vivienne Westwood: "Oh, don't set me off! Oh my God, I just can't believe it. You know when you love someone so much. She's the queen of fashion, she makes me feel brilliant. I'm just going to give her the biggest kiss I've ever given anyone."
On Robbie Williams voting for him to win: "Has he come out? No? Oh well, still waiting, that's not a problem!"
