Believing that she had been snapping at him all day, Ben approached Sunshine this evening to clear the matter up. The 19-year-old medical student explained to him that she had been angered by a series of comments he made about her, including jokingly asking if she was on medication despite knowing about her eating disorder and calling her a "bitch" across the kitchen table at dinner tonight.
She also claimed that he had called her "uncaring" and questioned her medical knowledge, which she believed would jeopardise her future career.
"Have I looked at you and said, 'You're not caring', or said that you're bad at whatever you're meant to do? [Have I said] 'You can't write?'
"You point out every flaw I have," she continued. "I know I'm not perfect but I have my enemies to point out these things to me continually… I don't think it's very nice these things you say because you say them to me in very insulting ways."
Ben apologised but said that everything he said to her had been in jest and that friendly teasing was just his way of coping with being upset. He also explained that he may have targeted Sunshine because he was angry with the way she interrupted a private conversation he was having with John James and Mario yesterday.
Sunshine said that she had wanted to have fun with her friends on what was potentially her last night in the house and had tried to change the subject of their conversation to "lighten the mood".
Having failed to settle the matter, Ben went to discuss the fallout with John James, Mario and Dave, who told him that Sunshine was just suffering from eviction night nerves and urged him not to take anything too personally.
"I feel sad I've upset her, but I don't feel guilty because I made those comments in good humour and if she can't accept that humour, that's her problem," Ben stated.
The two have previously clashed after Sunshine accused Ben of isolating her with his constant teasing.
