Housemates have completed their wheelchair basketball task this afternoon.

After Steve's training finished this morning, the basketball coach selected Shabby, David and Mario to play against Nathan, John James and Corin in the game.

"This is like when I was the last picked at school," said Caoimhe.

Josie added: "This is like sports day all over again."

Shabby declared that her yellow team would be called the 'The Growlers', while Nathan's blue team announced that they were 'The Wheeled Warriors'.

Big Brother then told the remaining housemates they would be cheerleaders for the game and that the most talented cheerleader, as chosen by the winning team, would also share their prize.

As Caoimhe, Josie, Ife and a reluctant Ben went to prepare their routine, the basketball players discussed Steve's choices.

"I don't know how you [picked John James] based on his performance," David said. "Caoimhe and Josie were better than him."

Steve explained: "I picked him 'cos he's dead competitive and Nathan's dead competitive
- it was based on enthusiasm and he was enthusiastic."

Meanwhile, the cheerleaders came up with their supporting chants - "Growlers, Growlers, you're the best, you look hot in a yellow vest," and "Warriors, Warriors, don't despair, John James stay in your chair."

After performing these in the garden to the basketball players' amusement, Big Brother called the teams to the centre of the grass.

"May the best Growler win," said Shabby .

While Corin was regularly scoring points for the blue team, Shabby kept screaming in frustration at her lack of goals. However, at the end of the first half, the score stayed at 3-3, even though Steve disallowed Mario's goal for standing up in his chair.

In the second half the Growlers had a two-point lead, but the blue team quickly caught up and finally won 9-7. Nathan chose Ife as the cheerleader to join his team and referee Steve for a night of "games and fast food".

Speaking later Steve said: "As far as I'm concerned everyone's a winner, we all took part, we all had fun."
