John James was disqualified from the 'Ride To Nowhere' task before it even got properly under way earlier, as he swore while putting his first pound coin into his fairground ride.

The Australian, dressed as a biker, was disappointed with himself when Big Brother announced he had "used the F word", protesting: "I don't even remember saying it!"

He left the garden, where Corin – dressed as a sailor – and David – wearing a pilot costume – were still competing. "I'm not happy about that," he told Nathan, who reassured him: "At the end of the day with swearers like us, you don't even notice you're doing it."

David fell off the back of his ride not long after. Corin felt sure that his accident meant she had won the prize, exclaiming: "I've won, I've won!"

However, David refused to acknowledge it was his fault. "I didn't let go, I was still on it!" he said. "This thing's a liability, get the health and safety out here... this is very uncomfortable but I'll endure it 'til the end."

Big Brother temporarily suspended the task and by the time Corin and the minister returned to their machines, they had hatched a plan to toss a coin to determine the winner. A delighted Corin won and David stepped down, muttering: "At least I can have some curry now."

However, when Big Brother announced that Corin had also used a swear word, there was confusion as to who had actually won the challenge, or if nobody had won at all. As David had not yet given up on the task at the time Corin swore, the housemates decided that he must have won.
