As the 30-year-old writer and broadcaster sat down to be quizzed, he revealed that he had been looking forward to finally meeting the Big Brother host and confessed that a part of him was pleased to have been given the boot.
"You spend half your time in there thinking, 'I’m in the Big Brother house, this is amazing', on the other hand you just think, 'I've got so many fantastic friends on the outside world'. I’ve really missed them."
Ben was then shown clips of John James, Josie, Mario and Rachel nominating him for eviction, with Davina drawing attention to the Australian housemate's reasoning that he felt comments about Josie's appearance were somewhat insensitive, stating that she believed those remarks had caused Ben's downfall.
Davina then showed Ben clips of his regular refusals to take part in team tasks, which received enthusiastic applause from the studio audience afterwards. "I can't believe you turned an appalling lack of teamwork to something that people are now cheering you for," she stressed. "How did you achieve that?" In response, Ben pointed out that the game of Big Brother is just as much about individuals as it is about teams.
Calling back to his quitting of the tape task, he argued: "I was almost dead, Davina. One moment I was alive and the next… I imagine it was like giving birth."
Davina then asked Ben to comment on his hairstyle and was met with the reply: "A hairdresser once said to me, 'The reason why your hair's so complicated is that you’ve got three different hairstyles in one'."
Next up for discussion was Ben's flirting, with the former housemate brushing off Davina's accusations that he was a "player", instead saying he was more like a "coward" when it came to romance.
Davina's revelation that Rachel had romantic feelings for Ben seemed to come as a surprise to him and he revealed that he also felt an attraction to the Scouse flight attendant, claiming she was just his type. He quickly denied a potential romance with his other in-house admirer Mario, saying: "I made it quite clear that there were boundaries that I wouldn’t cross."
Further denying claims that he was purposely playing with people's feelings, the journalist said: "I'm the most tactile person in the world. If you love someone that’s all that matters, if you want to give someone a hug, give someone a hug." His comment received applause from the crowd and Ben jokingly offered them all to come back to his hotel room.
Before he left, Ben named close friend David as his choice to win as he has "so much love and warmth".
