After being shown clips of the current housemates slating the new arrival and calling him insulting names, the 21-year-old graffiti artist entered the compound to light cheers from the crowd while wearing a hat with a flashing arrow saying "new housemate" and a T-shirt that had "Ignore me" emblazoned across it.
Realising that his entrance was the latest random event in this week's 'Ignore the Obvious' task, the group remained seated in complete silence as Sam awkwardly perched on the edge of the sofas.
The new housemate was then called to the Diary Room and asked questions by Big Brother about his first impressions of the group, unaware that the rest of them were watching him on the plasma screen.
"I know a few people have been bitching about me, Josie being one of them," Sam told Big Brother. "They didn’t look too happy to see me to be honest."
Back in the house, Josie claimed that her hostility towards Sam was due to him apparently calling her 'Miss Piggy' during auditions, but Rachel sympathised with the new arrival, letting out an 'aww' as he nervously squirmed in the Diary Room chair.
As Sam returned to the house, Davina revealed outside the compound that the broadcast of his Diary Room session had been another part of their ongoing task, adding: "They are clearly all pants at this task because they were all watching."
