After sitting in silence for a couple of minutes, John James ventured: "Me and you can't talk, can we? We can never, ever have a civil conversation when it involves..." She interjected: "Sam Pepper."
The Bristolian explained that she was upset that John James refuses to dislike the newcomer, despite knowing that he offended her – but the 24-year-old admitted that he was confused because every time he sees the two of them together, she's falling about laughing. "I can't help laughing, John," she replied.
"Because you think it's funny!" he protested.
"Yes, John James, I'm not saying he's not a funny guy... but every time I look at him I just think: 'You evil little git'," she said.
"I just don't appreciate the fact that you think I haven't stuck up for you. I have... I have your back. You know I do," he told her, explaining: "The sort of person that I am on the outside is that I give everyone a chance, especially when they've been singled out... I just don't like how you've got this disappointed look on your face because I'm more willing to give him a chance than you are."
"Dave and Andrew can see that he'd insulted me and hurt me and made me insecure but you – the only person that should be there for me in here – didn't!" she fumed.
"You know I'll be there for you. I'd do anything for you. You know that," he said, as Josie began to soften. "I see where you're coming from, I do... Do you know what I care about? You," he added, pulling the 25-year-old close for a cuddle.
"When it comes down to it I will be there more for you than what anyone else will be in this house. So don't even think otherwise. Don't even fucking worry about it."
After hugging and laughing for a moment, Josie joked: "I'm sleeping in my single bed tonight. We need some time apart, yesterday didn't last long enough." Putting the dispute behind them once and for all, she kissed John James's neck as he ruffled her hair and they told each other: "I love you."
