The Bristolian had become close to the Australian in recent weeks and said that the relationship she had had with him was genuine.
"Never in my life have I had anyone care [about me] like that," she began.
"This is why this place is good," JJ replied, saying that the house had given the pair the opportunity to meet each other.
"Now he's gone, I realise how much I really, really love him. He's just such a genuine nice bloke," she told JJ, before apologising for getting emotional.
"Don’t be silly babe, I'm here to look after you," he said.
Josie went on to say that she didn't think someone "like that" would care about her.
"You're too hard on yourself; everyone deserves to be loved by someone," JJ said.
Josie said she hoped John James would be okay on the outside, but confessed she was worried, having heard the largely negative reaction from the crowd when he was evicted. "He's such a nice bloke, he had a stupid mouth on him but I don’t think he deserved the reaction that he got," she declared.
JJ admitted the Australian's temper had got the better of him at times. "He just overstepped the mark and he didn't know when to drop things," he said.
Josie said she wanted to see John James once she left the house. "I hope he still feels the same," she stated.
JJ told Josie that he thought John James would be supporting her in the final. "He'll definitely be there for you, he'll be rooting for you the whole way," he reassured her.
