Big Brother has split the housemates into teams for an endurance rowing task.

The group has been divided into Team Steel - consisting of Harry Blake, Faye Palmer, Jem Palmer and Tom O'Connell - and Team Butch, featuring Louise Cliffe, Alex Rose, Jay Mckray and Aaron Allard-Morgan, for today's Oxbridge-themed challenge.

Both groups donned boating costumes and were told to sit atop rowing machines, with the housemate that keeps going longest winning their team the chance to view the audition tapes of four housemates of their choice. The last housemate rowing will also win a mystery individual prize.

Geordie fitness instructor Jay was the shock first casualty of the challenge, stepping off his machine to use the toilet. Jem and Faye had previously attempted to coax him into quitting by warning that the challenge would burn off his muscles.

"We are on course, that's it girls," Aaron called out to his team mates. "Keep going Alex, think you can win it."

Professional wrestler Jem, however, was more concerned about working out than winning the challenge, declaring: "[I] want to burn fat on my a**e, only exercise I ever so do I'm enjoying it."
