"We need to change," Benedict told Big Brother in the Diary Room. "Not only to be able to talk about these things but for the safety, health and lives of our young people."
Later, he told his fellow housemates: "We don't talk about it enough. I do it privately but I don't believe I should keep it private."
Getting annoyed at Caroline's giggling about the subject, he told her: "You are 20! You should be able to talk about these things."

However, Lydia Louisa and Deana Uppal challenged Benedict over his masturbation campaign. Deana said: "I think it's something private so keep it private. You are always going to be known as masturbation boy."
Meanwhile, Lydia argued: "I feel like I'm a pawn in your game. I want to be friends with you, but I don't want to be a part of your message."
However, Benedict stood firm with his argument, claiming that he was making people "feel uncomfortable" with a truth rather than causing outright offence with housemates.
