Big Brother party

By
Can't make it to the show? Prefer the warm company of your friends to a few hundred strangers in a cold car park?

You don't have to miss out on all the fun. With a bit of organisation, you can have your own Big Brother party with the TV or the computer pushed to the corner of the room.

First, the food. We've published loads of recipes for Big Brother food, and while we wouldn't recommend it for a family Sunday lunch, it'll bring the authentic flavour of Big Brother into your living room.

Next, the music. Well, the Big Brother theme tune will be gracing your telly throughout the evening, but how about Dean's medley on Day 63?

And finally, the games.

Game 1: Guess the Quote

First off, guess who made the quote (answers at the bottom of the story, so one of you will have to be Davina and do the organising.)

a) "Never do that again! I nearly had a heart attack!"
b) "In here it's like if you get ten animals from all over the world and put 'em in a cage. They're not gonna get on, are they?"
c) "Bogies on toast might be quite nice if there was no butter."
d) "My stylist will go mad when he finds out I had my hair cut for £3.50"
e) "You are a special girl even if you can be a bit tactless."
f) "We started doing what you do when there is no one else in the lift."
g) "There are gay dogs, aren't there? Paddy looks like a gay dog."
h) "Who needs laxatives? Curry's what you need."
i) "I've heard that men's willies are all the same size when they're erect."
j) "I miss light switches, floor mats, and hot water."
k) "If you get emotionally scarred by a sausage, darling, you should see someone."

Game 2: Brian's Evil Game

Choose a forfeit, then go round in a circle counting upwards from "one". Any number with 3 in it or divisible by 3 is replaced by "Evil", and any number with 5 in it or divisible by 5 is replaced by "Demon". Anything with both is replaced by "Evil demon".

Game 3: Truth or Dare

Put something black-and-white over the toilet and turn your privy into a Diary Room. One person is nominated as Big Brother who calls someone else into the Diary Room. There, they have to answer one question. Their honesty is put to the vote and if they are judged as honest then they get to be Big Brother and call someone else in. If they're thought to be lying then they have to pay a forfeit and answer another question.

Game 4: Living Room Playground Task

The playground task must be completed by each player in 120 seconds.

Armchair Pogo Stick - Stand on one leg on an armchair and jump up and down five times.

Bin Bouncer - Crouch over a wastepaper bin and grab the edges with both hands. The aim is to bounce around the room touching each of the four corners.

Pencil Skipping - take a pencil at each end with each hand and hold it close to the ground. You have to skip over the pencil and back again twice without landing on the pencil or letting go of it.

Game 5: Storymaker

Go round in a circle with each person saying one word. The aim is to make a Big Brother story. So for instance, you might start: "Day... Three... Brian... Takes... Helen... Into..." and so on. No hesitations allowed.

Game 6: Cider Bottle Game

Split into teams (girls v boys?). Cut the bottom of a plastic bottle and place it with the neck upwards. (The housemates used a cider bottle, hence the name.) The aim is to take it in turns to pick the bottle up with your teeth without bending your knees. You can cut the bottle shorter if it's too easy. Anyone who bends their knees or fails to pick up the bottle..., well you get the idea.

Game 7: Josh's Ibble Dibble Game

Each guest is given a number in order in a circle. Everybody starts with no dibbles (a dibble being a spot of lipstick on their face). For as long as person #1 has no spots on their face, they are known as "Ibble dibble one with no dibbles".

Take a deep breath. To play the game, you say your own name ("ibble dibble three with no dibbles", for example) then point to someone else and say their name ("to ibble dibble one with three dibbles", if they have three spots on their face). Miss any of the "ibble dibbles" or forget to say how many dibbles you or the other person have, and you get a spot ("a dibble") on your face.

Then it's their turn. Anyone who ends up with no dibbles on their face has clearly been cheating.

The answers to the quotes game are... a) Bubble b) Paul c) Amma d) Josh e) Penny f) Stuart g) Brian h) Narinder i) Helen j) Elizabeth k) Dean

Big Brother 2 is a Bazal production for Channel 4.
