Big Brother 2013 house revealed - pictures

The first pictures of the new Big Brother house have been unveiled.

The famous compound has been given an eco-friendly makeover for the Channel 5 show's 14th series, with barn-esque wooden walls and floors, kitchen chairs made of old bike saddles and a living room that looks out onto a lush jungle.

There is also an electricity-generating bike in the bedroom and an outside shower, powered by turning a wheel.

Among the new features in the Big Brother garden are a cosy treehouse, a 'prison' for misbehaving housemates and a vegetable patch which will allow the group to grow their own produce.

This year's contestants will enter and exit the compound via a grand blue staircase adorned with a chandelier and colourful doors representing the 'Secrets and Lies' theme.

The twist is represented throughout the building, with doors and briefcases converted into various fixtures.

Bosses have teased that the house itself is also hiding secrets, such as a camouflaged swimming pool in the garden and mystery rooms.

Big Brother 'Secrets and Lies', which sees Emma Willis take over from Brian Dowling as main host, launches Thursday, June 13 at 9pm on Channel 5.
