Intruder alert
Published Wednesday, May 28 2003, 17:35 BST | By Jason Crawley
The housemates have been briefly confined in the girls' bedroom this afternoon after an intruder was spotted in close proximity to the house.
The details of the incident - which occurred at around 3.30pm - remain unclear after all mentions of it were blocked during the E4 live coverage, although it is belived that the housemates waved and shouted at the intruder before being told by Big Brother to quickly proceed to the girls' bedroom, where they were kept for around 45 minutes.
After being released from the bedroom, the housemates were given a laminate from Big Brother reminding them that no contact - including shouting and waving - must be made with anyone seen or heard outside the house, with severe punishment awaiting any housemates who continue to breach the rule.
The identity of the intruder remains a mystery, although speculation suggests that the housemates spotted a workman in place to remove the pedalo, or a tabloid photographer who breached the security surrounding the house.
