Scott chats to DS:BB!

Scott - why did you apply for Big Brother? You don?t strike me as a fame junkie.
It sounds a bit corny but I was sick of my job. I wanted to be in a situation where I thrive, I?d been clock-watching. I was wishing my days away to be honest. I wanted to test myself?
?Test myself? - that?s an interesting statement?
Yeah, well I wanted to see if I could find anything about myself so that?s why I applied to get into the house.
Were you bemused to find that the tabloids described BB4 as ?boring??
There were days when it was dull. There was no Jade to gasp in horror at. We were a lot more civilised than in previous years. I?ve got to be honest?the theme was ?Back To Basics Big Brother?. They [the producers] told the housemates that but not the nation. We had nothing to do. If we asked for things to make the day more interesting?give us a test, a challenge, something to play with, they said ?No - you make your own amusment?.
What is the best and worst thing about the BB experience?
Best? Doing stuff you don?t usually get to do! Photoshoots, doing a days modelling, learning to be a cub scout! And obviously you meet famous people. Drawback? Coming back down to reality. You have a really good couple of months, then you come back down to earth?and that needs to happen.
Tell me a joke about Edward Woodward?
Aaaaaay!! [Laughs] Do you want me to tell you that joke again? I think Cameron found that a lot more funny than it really was! [laughs]
Jon Tickle is quoted as saying ?everyone should have a friend like Scott? and Federico described you as ?incredibly witty?. But most of your press attention concentrated on your flirting with Nush whereas a lot of your wit was ignored. Did that annoy you?
Yeah, absolutely, that does annoy me. Nush is a fine person, she?s a mate, she?s cool, it?s not her fault. But my BB experience was a lot more than kissing Nush once. That doesn?t sum up my BB experience at all. The attention we got was ridiculous. It it doesn?t sum up my BB experience at all.
Did you secretly enjoy the press attention the romance flirting between you and Nush caused?
No, I didn?t enjoy that attention. It?s odd to see yourself in the paper, it was too weird! Ah, it?s no big deal, it?s just a bit funny.
Why did you start sleeping in Federico?s bed after he left? Were you missing him? [jokes Emzi]
Federico would like to think that! It was the furthest bed from the door away from all the noise that?s all! Federico is great, we understand each other?s sence of humour. He was in there for four weeks, I was in for nine so it?s technically MY bed! [laughs]
What about future aspirations? What are your career plans?
I?ve written radio plays which I co-wrote, short stories, I?d like to write for a living, do film reviews for a magazine, something like that, yeah.
Some of your critics have said that you ?sat on the fence?, you didn?t express a lot of direct opinions in the house. Was that a tactic to stay in by not upsetting anyone?
It wasn?t a tactic. I?m not a naturally agressive person, I don?t go searching out for arguments. I think a better tactic would be to opinionated to be honest!
Are your ex-housemates the same people you knew in the house?
Don?t get me wrong, I think Cameron is great but he?s the most different outside the house. If anyone was tempering themselves, it was Cameron. He?s not as doe-eyed as he makes out! I wouldn?t say he created a character for himself, he just wouldn?t let a certain side to himself be shown. And that ?if you keep me in the house, I?ll tell you a secret? stuff was cheeky! ?I don?t like Lisa?? Fucking hell! [laughs] but you do what you have to do in there. It?s Big Brother, there are no rules.
Was it strange having Jon back in the house the second time?
I voted for Jon in the first four weeks, he was a bit cantackerous [laughs] but that had all gone when he came back in. It was really, strange and it was really great that that happened. After his second spell in the house, I loved him!
Will you be watching Big Brother 5?
It?s going to be a strange feeling. I will watch it, I?ll watch them go in just so I can say ?those jammy bastards - they?ve got a better house than we had!?
Scott, thanks for talking to DS:BB!
