Emma's no Jade
Published Tuesday, Jun 1 2004, 11:07 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly
Emma's mother has urged Big Brother viewers not to be too hard on her daughter, in an interview with The Mirror today.
A series of silly comments from Emma such as, "What does 'clarify' mean?" and "What's mozzarella?" have reminded viewers of Jade Goody's lack of general knowledge.
But Emma's mother, Karen, has revealed that her daughter's dyslexia is responsible for these comments.
"Emma isn't the brightest," Karen tells the newspaper. "Her dyslexia makes her say silly things sometimes. She hasn't got much common sense and she has never used an oven.
"But I hope people aren't too hard on her like they were with Jade. She's a lovely girl with a heart of gold."
Whether Emma's comments entertain or annoy the public remains to be seen!
