Stuart turns to Victor for advice

"She is not pleased with you," surmised Victor of the situation, clearly giving Sherlock Holmes a run for his money with his skills of perception.
"I just went and spoke to her because I feel like my point is very fair and valid," explained Stu. "But she was just like 'well i wanted to do it.' To be honest though, I really do feel like it was a big ask for me to do that, whereas her not doing it is not a big ask at all, and I just feel pretty hard done-by by the fact that she's being sort of angry with me for that."
"So what are you going to do, stand your ground?" asked Victor, taking an authorative munch out of his apple.
"Well my point's fair, I've said it and.. I don't really know," Stuart answered. "But just to be cold with me for that is pretty harsh man, I think."
Victor went on to advise Stu that he should "stand his ground" and confront her about what her priorities were. "There comes a time where you've just got to stand your ground and say 'Look, I didn't want to do this and I didn't want to do that. You have to look at my point of view and take it on board.'"
He continued: "You can do these things without being rude. Sometimes you have to be rude but if you don't want to be rude you can get around it by just saying 'you have to respect my views now, because yours are for glitz and glamour and mine are for deeper personal reasons... and which one do you hold more highly?'"
Stuart nodded. "That's kind of how I feel," he admitted.
