Ding dong! Shell's a wedding belle

Big Brother's radiant rose Shell Jubin and self-styled straight-talkin' Vic 'da Slick' Ebuwa were this afternoon joined in temporary game show matrimony by preacher man Jason, on the last day of this week's wedding task.

Flanked by his best man Action Dan, demonstrating the mutual incompatibilities between sticky-out ears and brimmed top hats, Vic waited uncomfortably as the bridal march started up and Shell emerged, followed by bridesmaid Nadia and given away by father of the bride Stuart. "Ding dong!", commented an appreciative Victor.

Each member of the wedding party seemed to pick a different key as they sang a somewhat wobbly version of "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands", though the discord was as nothing compared to reluctant chorister Michelle's solo performance of Pie Jesu, a song which she'd clearly never heard before in her life and chose to pronounce in a curious Latin / French hybrid.

Victor's composure seemed to falter as he dabbed tears from his eyes as he and his blushing bride read out their vows to each other: "I'll make love to you when you want me to, and I'll hold you tight baby, all through the night... until day 71 or until death do us part," they promised.

After the ceremony, Shell gave a surreptitious heads-up to Nadia to position herself to catch the bouquet, but feisty Michelle, who'd long been complaining that she wanted to be the bride or bridesmaid, executed a death-defying lunge for the fragile flowers, though not fast enough to wrest them away from triumphant Nadia who fled round the garden shouting "I'm gonna be the bride!" as Michelle attempted to rugby tackle her to win it back.

So in the end, the ceremony went off without a hitch. And although grumpy chorister Michelle may have been a denied bride, if she manages to tempt Team Handsome Stu under the tablecloth again, it may be her rather than Shell getting the honeymoon.
