Makosi in tears during hypnosis task

A bizarre sequence of events played out after "Melvin the Magnificent" called out Makosi's trigger phrase, "superhero."

Just as Makosi was attempting to get Anthony to swear on his mother's life that he didn't remember what he'd done while he'd been "hypnotised," Melvin came over the speakers and said Makosi's trigger phrase.

At that moment, a sound dip was implemented on all live coverage. Makosi remained still on the sofa, began saying things, and then burst into tears.

When sound from the house resumed, Anthony was heard to mutter something about a "performance" while he pottered around the kitchen area.

Post-incident conversation indicates that Makosi pretended to be able to hear her sister.

UPDATE: Channel 4 has since confirmed that Makosi was instructed to convince the others that she believes she possesses super powers like moving objects without touching them, making the above sequence of events even stranger.

UPDATE 2: Channel 4 has since revised the text on the official site to read that Makosi was instructed to believe that she has the ability to "speak to people who are hundreds of miles away."
